Head of Data Science

At Scavenger, we are developing AI tools that allow decision-makers to make the best possible decision under any circumstances by transforming unstructured data into actionable insights within seconds. After our successful funding round, we are looking for a Head of Data Science to lead the team and create a data cleaning pipeline and game-changing algorithms.

You will be responsible for building automated algorithms that clean and analyze different types of data.

Responsibilities

• Lead the in-house development of our ELT, ML, deep learning and business intelligence products with a team of two data scientists 

• Explore new product areas through continuous prototyping

• Lead and develop our quality assurance pipeline for algorithms

• Design scalable algorithms to run on and augment unstructured data 

• Generate actionable insights for business improvements

Qualifications

• Master's degree or PhD from a top university in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computational Social Science, Digital Humanities, or a comparable course of study

• At least 4 years of professional experience 

• Deep understanding of regression algorithms, predictive modeling, machine-learning, clustering and classification techniques, and algorithms

• Fluency in Python and R

• Familiarity with areas of natural language processing, text analysis, information extraction, knowledge discovery, transformer/large language models, or semantic search.

• Experience working with applied AI
